It was already humbling to be chased around the map for what was it? Seven years? What's a little cooperation when the alternative was collateral damage and a terrible reputation for hurting their precious 'good boy'?
I'm not going to parse works and make it sound like I didn't want him to. I did. It just happened to be a case where I wasn't expecting him to do so. The last we met before that, he was calling me an irredeemable murderer and whatnot.
I expected to be greeted like a villain, not taken care of. So yes, I did take that hand, because despite the pain he put me through, I still valued how he saw me.
